Worrying needlessly?

Hi, i was sent for an urgent ultrasound, as i had gone to see my Doctor, about some lumps under my skin in my neck, which had been their for at least a month, the Ultrasound took a month but was last Wednesday, and they found some other things, and said my Doctor was to arrange a urgent Needle Biopsy.  Been informed today my Doctor wants to have a telephone consultation about the results, i am wondering though, how long does it take to be given a biopsy, when he booked the ultrasound on a Friday i heard when my appointment was on the Monday. I know its only less than a week since the ultrasound, but truthfully i am now worried, and ive more chance of platting fog,, than getting to speak to him before Friday.

Sorry for the post, but ive been worrying since he found the lumps and said oh thats not good, over a month ago

  • Hi MurphysDad,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I know it's never easy when dealing with uncertainty like this and waiting for appointments.

Perhaps you may have heard more since posting here. If not, then you should do soon - though it can sometimes take a while for an appointment to arrive.

It can be easier said than done but try to take things a day at a time and focus on other things as much as possible.

I'm sure there will be others here going through something similar so hopefully you'll get more replies to your post soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
