Has anyone had mastitis and been diagnosed with breast cancer?

Hi

Has anyone else had mastitis & been diagnosed with BC?

I have a huge plumb like lump which Drs have said could be mastitis but I’m a 51 year old & I'm frantically worried it’s cancer.  It’s sore but not angry looking like an infection should be.

I am on the waiting list for a breast screening which can take 3/4 weeks, but I’m absolutely bricking it with the not knowing.

has anyone else experienced this please?

    I'm sorry to hear about the mastitis you're currently contending with and the anxious wait you now have for a breast screening.

    It's completely understandable, and natural, to be worried but if you can try not to jump to any conclusions or think the worst. Always easier said than done, I know, but hopefully some of these tips we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help to steady your nerves whilst you wait for your appointment to come through.

    Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040.
