Possible endometrial cancer

I first saw my GP on July 17 for a postmenopausal bleed  and she put me on a 2 week suspected cancer referral.  I've had an ultrasound that showed 6mm thickness in the womb and I'm having a hysteroscopy tomorrow.  I'm stressing out about the result more than the procedure.  I live on my own and it's been torture going through this alone.  I had a smear test and bowel cancer screening and both were clear.  Keep thinking I can't be that lucky to get 3 negative tests...

  • Hello Tessmum

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some unusual bleeding. It's good to know you've already seen your GP and initial investigations have been done.

How did you get on with your hysteroscopy yesterday? I hope that the team were able to give you some reassurance and that you won't have to wait too long for any additional results.

If there's anything that you'd like to talk through with one of our nurses, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Keep in touch Tessmum and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
