Need a diagnosis

I had a lumpectomy in my left breast in 2016 & had 7 weeks of radiotherapy. I was on letrozole & alendronic  acid for 5 years. Thankfully my mammograms have been clear. 2 years ago I started noticing dark pinkish patches on the same breast. Sometimes they look like bruises!!! No pain but sometimes a little itchy. I’ve been back to the Breast care clinic & have had 2 punch biopsies & scans done as I’ve been worried it might be Inflamatory Breast Cancer but the tests showed no cancer which is great. BUT what can it be???? I am waiting to be referred to a dermatologist.
Has anyone had this ??
Could it be ‘blocked’ lymph nodes? I had some removed when I had my surgery!!!

Am really worried.

  • Hello CanadySA

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently noticed some changes to the skin on your breasts. It's understandable that you've been feeling worried about what these changes may be and it's great to know that you've already been seen in the breast clinic and no immediate cause for concern was raised with the biopsy results.

It's good to hear that a referral to the dermatology team is already in the pipeline and hopefully you won't have to wait too long to see a specialist.

If you think it might help to chat things through with one of our nurses for some reassurance and advice, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you get some answers soon.

    Best wishes,
