Punch biopsy results

hi,

I have been sent on a 2week referral for suspected skin cancer. It started as a skin tag that disappeared and turned to a 13mm red leision. So I was sent for a punch biopsy which was nearly 3 weeks ago. They told me my results can take 6-8 weeks. Is this normal? How long is the usual wait time?

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear you've been waiting a while to hear more. Unfortunately results can take several weeks - though it tends to depend on each hospital or area and waiting lists.

    I know that the waiting and uncertainty is difficult. Where possible try to take things a day at a time and keep busy and focused on other things as much as possible. I know this can be easier said than done.
