Thick womb lining 2 week referral to gynaecologist

I had a scan showing I have thicker than expected womb lining. I’m on HRT. The doctor has referred me to gynaecology for a second option on a 2 week referral - this was Monday, it’s Thursday and I haven’t heard re appointment date yet. I go on holiday, abroad, in 10 days for 2 weeks so if I’m not seen next week it will be a month before I’m seen since referral. Obviously it’s always a worry when you’re on a 2 week referral: should I hassle the doctor to chase up an appointment date?

    Hello Whelky, 

    I think given you are going on holiday soon for 2 weeks and you still haven't received the appointment date, it would not be a bad idea to chase up the appointment date. It will give you a little bit of peace of mind to know when the appointment might be and it should not be too long now for you to be seen. Give them a call if you haven't heard anything back by Monday and mention that you are about to go on a holiday and are worried about not having an appointment date before you go away. I am sure they will be happy to update you. 

    I hope that you will be seen very soon and that you will get to enjoy your holiday abroad!
