CIN3 quick progession

Hello all,

I've had mild dyskaryosis (CIN1) with high risk HPV for more than ten years and have been attending colposcopies every 6 months (the last time I had this result was in September 2024). The hospital then scheduled me in for my next appointment nine moths later instead of the usual 6 months. I went and had this done in June. They did they did a smear and biopsy at the same time. My results came back as CIN3.   A nurse informed me at the time that my treatment would be a LLETZ procedure and would be marked as urgent. I only received a call a few days ago to say that they will schedule me in for the 15th August and they stressed again how urgent this was and I should have been scheduled much earlier but somehow I was missed from the urgent list. I got the impression that it could be worse than CIN3 as invasive cancer doesn't show up on biopsies and colposcopy results and they'll only be able to see during my procedure. I am absolutely  terrified that this has progressed even worse. Has anyone else had similar results?

  • Apologises, I'm new to this forum so don't know if I have put this post in the correct category.

  • Hello Tania-Maria

I'm sorry to hear that your most recent cervical health appointment showed that you have CIN3 and that you're due to have a LLETZ procedure next week. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious ahead of your appointment.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat things through with one of our nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. If you'd like to talk with them, they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully when you see the team next week they will be able to give you some reassurance during your appointment. Do let us know how you get on Tania-Maria.

    Best wishes,
