Changing nipple shape

Hi just wondering if anyone’s in the same boat or have been in the same boat. I went to the gp Monday about changing nipple shape it’s always been a bit wonky but now it looks like it’s spreading out, she said because she didn’t know what was normal for me she was referring me To the breast clinic to get checked out. Now my health anxiety is through the roof I’m just panicking so much. Feel like a shaken bottle of coke I try to keep it together all day for my son then melt down when he’s in bed.

I Just don’t know whatots going  to happen at the appointment and that’s making me panic more. I have to go alone so my husband can look after our son.

  • I'm sorry to hear about the changes in your nipple Helli085 and for the worry this and your upcoming breast clinic referral is causing.

I hope it helps to know that lots of our members have been in a similar position, so you are not alone Helli085, and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I hope this information I've found on what happens at a breast clinic appointment will help to ease your mind but if you have any further questions, or would just like to talk this all through with someone, then don't hesitate in giving our team of cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and address any other concerns you may have at this time.

I'm sorry you're having to go to this appointment alone, but just remember that I and the rest of the Cancer Chat community are here for you Helli085 and we'll be sending you all our support on the day.

If you feel up to it afterwards, do let us know how you get on. We'll have our fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,
