Lump on left nipple keeps bursting and coming back. Petrified of what this could be

So I have had a lump on my left nipple for about 2 years I’ve been to the breast clinic 2-3 times and they have just felt and said nothing to worry about , about 2 months ago it had gotten big to where my nipple had disappeared , but looked like a big lump with white and red fluid leaking. I contacted my gp but as it had gone down they didn’t do much about a week later it had become a lot worse I went back to the GP to the point it’s the size of a 2p she had felt it and is referring me back to the breast clinic as it was bothering me very painful but kept bursting but coming back quite big. I got prescribed fuloxacinin for a week, it’s still very sore and big and keeps bursting but coming back worse. I am only 23 but petrified of what it could be . And now I have to wait with not knowing why’s it is and it causing me bother.  Has anybody had anything similar or like this ? Do you think it could be Paget’s disease ? What more can I do ?

  • Hi Shanb23,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry you've been experiencing this issue for a while - it's good that you've had it checked out before although I'm sure it is difficult that it's continuing and you don't have any answers.

Ahead of your next appointment with the breast clinic it might be worth writing down what's happened so far - i.e. when you first noticed it, what's happened recently, and so on. So hopefully they can get a better picture of what's been going on.

It's difficult to advise on what it could be, but hopefully the specialists will be able to help when you have your appointment. You've done all the right things up to this point, and do keep in touch with your GP if at any point you're not sure of anything or have any questions.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
