Double whammy within 3 days

Hi all,

I'm pre-diagnosis and trying not to think too much.

My optometrist noticed something new during my routine exam on Saturday and I have a specialist appointment on Thursday.

Today I went to the doctor as I've been having stomach pains and unusual bowel movements only to be fast tracked for tests and a colonoscopy.

I can't describe how I'm feeling, lost is probably a good word.

Everything is happening so fast...which just makes me more concerned!!

  • Welcome to the forum DogMum2Stark although I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're dealing with, and the tests you've been referred for.

As you say, it's very scary when things happen so quickly but try to look at it as a positive if you can as it'll means less time waiting for those much needed answers and peace of mind.

Quite a lot of our members know what it's like to be in this position DogMum2Stark, so you are not alone, and hopefully you will receive some support and advice soon.

I hope these tips we have on coping with the wait will help, but we also have a team of cancer nurses you can talk to on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and answer any other questions you may have at this time.

We're thinking of you DogMum2Stark and wishing you all the best for tomorrow and your upcoming colonoscopy.

We'll have our fingers crossed for good outcomes on both fronts.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
