What an anxious time I can well imagine it must have been for you and your husband when the fit test result came back as 23.8 and he had all the symptoms of bowel cancer. You must have expected the worst possible outcome especially as he was also referred for an urgent colonoscopy. The lead up to the colonoscopy must have been terrifying for you both but what a relief it must have been to be told it was only haemorrhoids and mild colitis. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post here about his experience. 

As you said, there will be many going through something similar at the moment and reading your story will hopefully make them feel a little bit better. Very often we don't get to hear about happy outcomes like your husband's but it's so important to know that urgent referrals don't necessarily lead to a cancer diagnosis and I am so glad that in your husband's case it all turned out to be nothing of concern.
