‘Prominent’ not enlarged axilla lymph node on US with general swelling

Hi

My armpit has been swollen for about 6 months. I’ve just had an ultrasound - the sonographer agreed it was swollen but couldn’t find a cause. There was a prominent but not enlarged axilla lymph node.

Will they investigate further do you think, or does prominent just mean it was easy to find?!

    I am glad to hear that you have already had an ultrasound. It sounds hopeful that the sonographer couldn't find an obvious cause for your symptoms. I expect that it will depend on what other findings, if any, that the ultrasound showed up. Have you been given an appointment for your results yet?

    Thanks for replying. The sonographer was pretty upbeat and I left feeling like it was a clear scan. Have you any idea what other tests they might do now? And should I push for more? Thank you x
