HPV positive and awaiting colposcopy

Hi,

I have now had 3 smears in a row which have come back HPV positive so have to have a colposcopy.   I am extremely worried as the report says inadequate sample for cytology and also inflammatory exudate on sample.   I have no idea what that means but out of my mind with worry.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been referred for a colposcopy following repeated HPV+ cervical screening results. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. 

    We do have some information about colposcopy on our website that you may find helpful, but I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call before your appointment.
