Hi everyone,
I recently went to my GPs about an unrelated ailment and she identified my stomach as being firm and bloated. After an elevated CA-125 test of 58 I was referred for an ultrasound which showed a giant cyst in my abdomen (32cm). I was subsequently referred for a CT scan and have went for a rapid referral to test for ovarian cancer.
I went to my appointment with the consultant and he advised the risk of cancer was low but still possible based on the CT and I went away feeling somewhat positive. He referred me to gynaecology oncology who I had a chat with and told me that based on my CT they were highly suspicious of it being cancerous. I tried to probe more around this but was generally told it was based on my CT and that they wouldn’t really know till removed.
as you can imagine I went from feeling pretty positive despite all of this to very anxious! does anyone have any recommendations at the types of questions I could ask or how I can find out more about why I was told contradictory information?
Thank you
