Inflammatory breast cancer?

I am freaking out.  I am 6 months postpartum and have exclusively been breastfeeding.  My right boob has always been the main supplier for little one, so it can sometimes be swollen and sore.  However; this is now accompanied by itching and some orange peel skin texture on the skin not the nipple.  Is this purely from breastfeeding or could it be inflammatory breast cancer?  I can’t feel any lumps and my nipple isn’t retracted.  I am so scared as Google tells me how aggressive it is

  • Hi Sarahh93 and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms and for the worry they are causing.

I know this must be scary but try not to panic or think the worst if you can. Always easier said than done I know, but there could be numerous explanations for what's causing this and hopefully once you've seen your GP you will be able to get some much needed answers and peace of mind.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will stop by soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime, we're sending you all our support Sarah and hope this turns out to be no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
