I’ve had two endoscopies. If you’re worried, have the sedation. It really does help. I didn’t have sedation first time and struggled. 

It’s over in minutes, and the staff are lovely and reassuring. 

Thank you yes I will ask for the sedation. I don’t think I’m brave enough without without it! 

Just try and stay focused on your breathing. Close your eyes, listen to the nurse and you’ll be fine.

I've had to have 2 endoscopies in the last month and I was terrified.  Sedation is the answer.  It doesn't knock you out but fades everything, I breathed slowly and said my grandsons name over and over in my head it definitely helped.
