7 months of being ignored. Inflammatory Breast Cancer - Do I have it?

At the end of October 2024 I noticed what I thought was a small lump on the top of my right breast with some redness. I also started getting pain in that breast. I had an ultrasound and they just said it was just thickness of skin. For 7 months now I have been back and forth to the GP due to the worsening of symptoms.
- redness has now turned purple and has covered 1/3 of breast.
- thickness of skin has grown rapidly in width.
- pain in both breast, everyday and in different parts of breast.
- slight pitting look on the area of thickened skin

I have had no fevers, no illnesses and no injury to area. I’ve taken pictures from October to June and you can see a massive change. Pain is now going into my armpits. Very slight swelling.

I was finally referred again and had another ultrasound which they said is thickened skin. They referred me for a consultation. The lady said she was confused in what this could be but took a punch biopsy of the thickened area of skin. Local anaesthetic was used but it didn’t work properly and felt it. It was horrendous.

I am now waiting for the biopsy results. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you so much.

  • Hi martini012020,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear you've been waiting a while to get answers - though it's good that you've now been referred and had some tests done. This should mean you get the information you need, and I hope it's not long to wait for this.

In the meantime, hopefully you'll get more replies to your post here soon - particularly if others with similar experience see it.

    Wishing you all the best,
