Doctor thinks I may have a Fibroadenoma and has asked me to keep an eye on it. Should I have been referred?

Just curious if I should have asked for an ultrasound,

I went to the doctors after finding two lumps in my right breast, and she said that she felt them and thinks it’s fibroadenoma.
she said to keep and eye on it but didn’t refer me to get an ultrasound or and follow up.
can you be completely sure just by a physical examination?
or should I be asking for an ultrasound to be on the safe side, I am only 20, but breast cancer runs in both sides of the family…

It's understandable to feel uncertain in this situation, especially given your family history.

Given your family history of breast cancer, it's reasonable to discuss your concerns with your GP and inquire about the possibility of an ultrasound for a more comprehensive evaluation. If you notice any changes in the lumps, such as growth or discomfort, or if new symptoms arise, please consult your GP promptly.

Remember, it's important to advocate for your health and seek clarity when needed.
