What to expect please. 

I have a marker on my middle area of right ear (4+ months now) open wound, itchy, that won't heal, had 2 lots of antibiotics, cream still didn't clear up- Dr sent off swab tests, showing no infection. My Dr said i had patches in my ear canal also. 

I was sent to dermatology for photos,  I have now received a email from dermatology to come in for a biopsy. In 2wks 

My skin around the wound is now going yellow? Is this normal-ish? 

Starting to panic! 

The hospital said if they cut it out it will heal quicker and I can drive myself home same day. Sounded OK. 

On my letter it's now saying not to drive myself to next appointment. 

Iv read on other threads people drive themselves to appointment.. so I'm reading into them asking me not to drive now. 

I'm going to drive myself crazy in the next 2 weeks

    Hi Tania

    While I cannot comment on your diagnosis the reason they ask you not to drive is because they will give you a local anaesthetic before the procedure. This may affect your ability to drive. If you do drive be aware that your insurance will be invalid. All the best for your appointment.

    Thank you,  i never new a local anesthetic void your insurance to drive. 

    I'm sure iv driven after dental work with a local anesthetic. 

    At the hospital, he said, if they give me a local anesthetic, all they ask if i stay there 15 min before driving myself home it will be ok. 

    So legally I'm not allowed to do this anyway.

    HI Tania

    My hospital advised not driving and it warned against it on the appointment letter. Maybe because it is local anaesthetic to the head. But you raise an interesting point that my dentist too has never said not to drive. I guess you could contact your insurance company.
