Biopsy done waiting for the results

Hi everyone, new to the chat group, I had a mammogram on the 9/5 (1st time). I got asked to go back for further tests/investigations as on the right breast (lesion looked abnormal). Back on the 20/5, I had another mammogram/XRay & biopsy done as they found a lesion of 6 mm. Hopefully it will be good news on the 28/5! Hope everyone has a great day ahead. Please look after yourself!

  • Not the news that I was expecting! Early stage breast cancer. It’s the size of a pea could have been missed but the radiologist as it so small I can’t thank enough this radiologist for seeing this lesion. It’s treatable as the surgeon/oncologist said I’m not sick I’ll be fine.

  • That is such good news, that they caught it early. Even if it wasn't the news you were hoping for. I hope you get the best treatment, and that you stay healthy. Waiting on my results (meeting the oncologist Friday). All the best going forward.

  • Hi Zolafrite,

I am sorry to hear this. Do you know what type and stage of breast cancer it is? It is good news that you have caught it early and that it is treatable. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer within a year. Fortunately, I caught mine early too. It is now 15 years since I was first diagnosed and I still lead a busy and fulfilled life - there's no reason why you won't too.

Have you discussed any treatment yet? Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. As you know, we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

  • Still waiting for some results to confirm if hormonal or others. Then we will decide if I’m to have an open surgery or this new trial call small (using the same procedure as the biopsy but with small vacuum to remove just the bad lesion). Then radiotherapy, probably hormonal therapy 5/10 years & mammogram every year.

  • Hi Zolafrite,

This new procedure sounds like another great advance in treatment, so I hope that you get it. I hope that your other results come back soon.

Please let me know when they do.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
