Hi, I'm new here so hopefully this is the correct area.
I found a lump behind my right nipple over the Easter weekend and was referred for a 2wk referral by my GP. I visited the hospital over a week ago, who could also feel the lump. They sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound and even called me back in to have the mammogram done again about 10 minutes later. When I was called in to the consultant he said that there's nothing showing on either imaging. He asked another consultant to come and examine me who could also feel the lump and estimated it to be aprox 20mm. The second consultant decided that I should wait 8 weeks and be called to have imaging completed again. He said they wouldn't be able to do a biopsy as the ultrasound that guides the needle can't see the lump and might miss it, if theyre going in blind. (I hope all this is making sense)
My question is, has anyone experienced anything similar? What should I do if this is repeated at my next appointment?
Other than the lump, I only have occasional aching feeling on that side but nothing major. I have noticed a VERY slight dent line on the side of my boob but isn't very clear and think they'll dismiss that.
Sorry for the rant and thank you in advance to anyone who replies.
