Advice welcome

I am 40 year old and have been back and forth to doctors over the last two years suffering with severe constipation( when I say severe I am taking atleast 25 laxatives to go) they just kept upping meds weren’t too concerned FIT test was negative so that good sign. Have also mentioned for same amount of time have had what feels like heaviness or a pressure in pelvic region again no one was concerned and seemed to gloss over that. Well today had another appt and mentioned both are really disrupting my life the constant pressure down there is so uncomfortable the only way it eases is if I sit and push hips back then it goes off. They have now sent me for a CA125 blood test today and I have now got myself really worried this is what’s wrong and it’s been left for so long has anyone else experienced similar symptoms and not been cancerous reason.

thank you for taking time to read

  • Hello Lisa0022

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health concerns over the last few years which you don't seem to have had any answers too. It sounds like it's impacted the quality o your daily life quite considerably and it's understandable that you're feeling frustrated.

A CA125 test can be used as part of the diagnostic process for ovarian cancer but it's also really important to remember that there are lots of other conditions that can cause a raised CA125 result so try not to worry too much.

If you think it might help to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays). I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

I hope you get some answers soon Lisa0022 and that the health professionals can set you on a path to improving your symptoms.

    Best wishes,
