Hey everyone
i have finally built up the courage to make a drs appointment after weeks of anxiety, but it’s only making me feel worse. Luckily I am only booked in for Friday, so I hope whatever needs to be done gets done quickly.
im 24 and feel like I’ve always had some kind of issue with my gi system, but things just seem to be getting worse and kind of concerning now. I get slight stomach pain multiple times a day about an inch from my belly button on my right hand side. It doesn’t hurt much but it’s noticeable. I used to work in a pub and tended to eat there as I got free food on my shifts, decided I was going to stop after finishing my master’s degree as I didn’t really have an excuse not to take my own food anymore. It seemed to stop for a while but has returned in the last few months :( but now in the last few weeks I am also having issues with my bowels. I have gone from going maybe every 1-2 days to generally about every 5 days and I’m so uncomfortable. I always feel bloated despite trying to do things to get my body to want to go (most weeks we cook 7 days a week and with lots of veg, I always have fruits and nuts with lunch and I exercise a few times a week on top of a physical job), but there’s barely an urge and sometimes when there is, nothing comes. I have also noticed a little bright red blood which I’m hoping is only fissures or haemorrhoids due to the colour but combined with everything else I just don’t feel good about it. Also tend to have looser movements towards that time of the month which really doesn’t help and is just confusing me even more. My job doesn’t help as I’m a lab tech in a cancer diagnosis lab and so I tend to see samples from a lot of young people like myself and the idea that it could never be me is fading. Wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms and what I should be expecting at my appointment on Friday? I’m worrying even more as they have decided to give me a face to face appointment instead of a phone call so I’m thinking it’s serious :(
