Telephone appointment after CT scan

Hi there, I was referred for a CT scan on the fast track cancer referral pathway due to an ongoing cough for the last three months. I had the scan last Sunday and today I got a phone call to say I had a telephone appointment on Tuesday. Does this mean they’ve found something? I’m panicking now thinking the worst. Has anyone else been through this?

    Hi Remi,

    I am sorry to hear that the phone call today has knocked you into a tail spin. It is impossible to say what this signifies. Most consultants like to give any results face-to-face, but sometimes, due to pressure of work, they have to be given by mail or over the phone. This can apply to both good and bad news, but I sincerely hope that yours will be good.
