Hey all,
I have a bit of a complicated history with my breast so bear with! I’ve had a lump for around 3 years now. At first thought it was a cyst, drained and core biopsy done. Then a needle biopsy done 6 months later. All benign. Antibiotics given three times. Then lump came back this time unable to drain, looked suspicious on mammogram and ultrasound and guided core biopsy done with 10 samples taken. Benign again. Gave diagnosis of periductal mastitis and that it was an abscess and inactive infection. I’m a non smoker. I went back to the surgeon who said she’d take it out the next week, which is what I’ve had done two days ago. Upon excision under GA she observed it was a lump rather than an abscess but said margins looked healthy- and that she will see me in 2~3 weeks.
Despite the reassuring biopsies; it’s still playing on my mind that it could be something sinister. I’m trying not to worry and so relived it’s out as want to put all this behind me, but it’s really playing on my mind. Anyone else had the same?
Plus feeling incredibly exhausted following surgery!! Feel like I’ve had the wind knocked out of my sails!
thanks in advance xx
