Hi I am 27 year old female and I have been having ongoing issues with lymph nodes swelling for at least 4 years! I had taken sick years ago due to stress, around 4 years ago I noticed swelling in my armpit and breast area. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound at the breast clinic to be honest I don't feel as if they did much they more or less scanned my actual chest area more so that the lymph nodes in my armpit and lumps at the side of my breast. Moving on over this past few years I have had permanent enlarged lymph nodes in my neck,under arm and groin area. Over this past few years I have never not been sick. I am a mum to three children so with them being at school clubs ect they always pick up colds flus and bugs but I always seem to get it worse and it lasts twice as long. Moving forward since October 2024 I have rarely been well I spent weeks on end on different antibiotics for different infections but bloods have always came back normal. 3 weeks ago I experienced a very bad infection for over a week which then led to a night being admitted into the hospital. I was seen by ENT in our A&E department who was concerned about my thyroid and lymph nodes on my neck. This doctor presumed they were enlarged due to my at the time infection until I informed him they have been like that for years. I was then refared for a thyroid ultrasound under the two week wait (the doctor actually referred me for a US led FNA)which I had last week although it was only the ultrasound not FNA,the consultant doing the ultrasound which lasted no more than 5 minutes said she didn't see anything concerning left the room and I was left to leave. Today I have received a appointment for next month at the same department of the hospital ENT but the letter does not state what reason I have this appointment. Surely if my scan was all clear they would have just called instead of wasting an appointment on me if it was okay? I suppose I am just feeling a bit concerned and hoping someone else has had some sort of experience in this. I have spent this last 6 months sicker than ever with constant illnesses, extreme tiredness,weight gain, swollen nodules, bad circulation (legs keep turning purple) hot sweats and cold shivers. If anyone has had a similar experience please feel free to share. Is there a chance something has possibly been detected? Should I worry? I've had a feeling for years something more sinister has been happening in my body but no one including my own gp has ever listened to me. Thanks
