Biopsy for mediastinal lymphodenopathy

Hi,

I've finally been given an outpatient appointment at my local hospital respiratory unit. I'm unsure whether this will be for the recommended mediastinal biopsy or a preparatory consultation.

I VERY anxious about the whole proves as I've been told following a Ct scan that there may be evidence of sarcoidosis. Lymphoma was only mentioned at my last, private, appointment, and that has obviously sent me spiraling.

Can anyone share their experience of this process? I have experienced no symptoms so far as far as I'm aware, but obviously, anything is making me think I have cancer.

Thank you.

  • Hi gifthorse,

It's good to hear you have an appointment coming up and I hope that it's not long to wait for this. You could always call the hospital ahead of the appointment if you have questions about what to expect.

I am sure the uncertainty is difficult to deal with so hopefully you'll be able to get the information you need soon.

My reply here will give your post a little boost so a few more people should see it, and hopefully you'll get more replies - particularly if anyone with similar experience sees it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
