Waiting to find out if my hubby has testicular cancer but his appointment isn't until next month. Shouldn't we be seen sooner?

Hubby saw his doctor on 10 th April.  Doctor suspects testicular cancer Hubby is very frail and has Parkinson's disease. He has lost a good bit of weight. He has received a urology appointment but it's not until the 8 th May. Surely this is too long to wait to see a urologist.

  • Hi Gemma23,

I am so sorry to hear your hubby is so frail at the moment with Parkinson's disease and suspected testicular cancer and that he has lost a lot of weight. It must be a bit of a disappointment not to get an appointment sooner - perhaps you could ring the hospital and mention that you are worried about waiting too long and would be happy to take any cancellation if it means you can be seen earlier? On the plus side, it's now just a little more than a couple of weeks until you have your appointment so the day of the appointment is finally getting closer and I hope that it will all go well and that you get some answers soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Phoned about hubby's appointment and asked if he could be seen sooner. Apparently there was a big mix up and he was referred to the wrong clinic. He was referred for a cystoscopy at the haematuria clinic . He was actually referred for suspected testicular cancer.  How can they mix this up and refer him to the wrong clinic.  After putting them straight he now has a new appointment in 4 days time . He is so anxious.
