Abnormal uterine bleeding since October 2023

First of all I am so sorry if this is not the right place to post this but I feel like I'm at the end of my tether and I don't know where else to go.

I'm 36 years old and since October 2023 I've been having abnormal uterine bleeding. It started completely out of the blue, my periods were regular every month without any problems up until then.

I have been back and forward to my GP and Gynaecology multiple times, had bloods taken, swabs and urine samples and an ultrasound all of which came back normal but the bleeding continued. So I paid privately for a transvaginal scan and a small polyp was found. I then went back to gynaecology and had a hysteroscopy where 3 polyps were found, removed and sendlt for biopsy, these came back benign with no issue.

GP was and still is utterly convinced it's a hormonal imbalance so from June Iast year i started taking the progesterone only pill. Single dose didn't stop the bleeding so I was told to double the dose which I did. The gynaecologist even gave me a depo injection on top in August because I was going on holiday and wanted to be able to swim with my daughter. It didn't work properly until around September last year where the bleeding stopped.

The main point of my post is that I am worried about taking progesterone for a prolonged period of time when I don't actually know what hormone is unbalanced, due to the increased risk of breast cancer. I already have an increased risk because my mam had breast cancer twice and sadly passed away, my maternal aunt had it and a paternal aunt passed from ovarian cancer. I have spoken to my GP about the risk and she said the other options are ablation (gyne recommended against this) or a hysterectomy but leaving my ovaries (gyne likes this option to) the other option is the mirena coil but again that is just progesterone but in a different way.

I am just really struggling, I worry so much about cancer and leaving my daughter behind, she's only 7. I've had therapy for health anxiety but it just doesn't go away.

Has anyone had any similar experiences and can offer any advice please? Again, I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

Thank you everyone
