Breast pain

Hi I’m 20 and in the past week have had a really tender upper right breast there is a lump there but I can’t tell if it always has been or if it is new, but that area is particularly tender, I’m not sure if I have strained something but it feels more like a bruised kind of tenderness. I have booked a gp appointment to be safe but am still worried

    I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some breast tenderness and have found a lump. You've done exactly the right thing in making an appointment to see your GP and hopefully they will be able to give you some reassurance when you see them. 

    If you are referred to your local breast unit, then keep in mind that the majority of people seen by a breast specialist are not diagnosed with cancer.
