Told of likely cancer diagnosis while examination and biopsy.

Hiya. I'm 27. I went to the doctors with abnormal vaginal bleeding. They examined me and the cervix started bleeding heavily so they couldn't see. Then they asked me to come in again later on to try again. They reffered me for the 2 week wait suspected cancer appointment. On my notes it said friable cervix and coliflower appearance and this in itself scared me so much. Fast forward to my appointment at the hospital. They examined me and the specialist basically said my cervix was bumpy and there's supicions parts dotted all over and bled as soon as touch. They took biopsies. And said it was likely going to come back cancer. I just don't know how from 2 years ago having bordeline cells and high grade hpv it's resulted to cancer so quick. I'm so scared and I have a 7 year old son

  • Hello Kperry8,

I can understand that you might feel worried and at this point it can be tempting to think the worst, but there's no way of knowing for certain until you get the results for your biopsies back. We have some guidance on coping with waiting for news on our website, which might help.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but I hope you get your results back soon so you can start discussing the next steps as soon as possible.
