The fact you are having a strong reaction to the Efudix means it is working well. I guess you still have another 2 weeks or more to go to finish treatment. You can use over the counter hydrocortisone cream to help take the heat out of it and calm it down. The other strategy if it is too much to bear is to apply the cream every other day instead of daily but double the length of treatment period. Hope this is of help. Make sure you protect your skin from the sun from now on if you do not wish to end up with much more serious SCC or BCC.
I did use 20years ago had same quick reaction after 2 weeks. Was told at different clinic to stop as it had done it's job . Was thinking may do same again.
Alternatively try using as you suggested.
Was told use vasaline when finished tried that few days ago didn't help made it worse if anything
I always had sensitive skin and keratosis last 15 years treated twice. Should be used to pain .
