Possible endometrial cancer

I saw GP today because I have been having post menopausal bleeding. I am 57 and been on HRT for 5 years. I have had lots of other symptoms that I put down to hip arthritis and fact had gall stones (had gall bladder out a month ago) such as bloating and excess wind. She examined me and said I had an enlarged womb and that she was concerned about endometrial cancer. She has referred me to hospital and said I would be seen next week.
I am scared and annoyed with myself for leaving it all so long before I went to her as I understand it progresses quickly.
I really like to hear from anyone going through this too please.

thanks

  • Hello Tina

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health issues and that, after seeing your GP recently, you've now been referred to the hospital. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

Try to keep in mind that whilst you're symptoms could indicate cancer, there are other conditions that could also account for your symptoms. It can help to try and stay positive whilst you're waiting for your appointment.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses at any point, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Do let us know how you get on Tina.

    Best wishes,
