Back lump got bigger, had an MRI

Hi everyone, I came here really just to share my worries and see if anyone has been in a similar position.

I have a back lump on my upper right side, it was ok a few years ago and now has got bigger and is causing me pain. I went to the doctors to get it checked and they sent me for an MRI scan.

They now have the results 2 weeks later - I called to ask - and the doctor wants to speak to me face to face. However, this appointment is not for another 3 weeks.

I'm confused and not sure what to think.

Has anyone else had a similar timeline? Is this normal? I know every case will be different.

Thank you for reading xxx

  • Hello JigglypuffMum

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some concerns that resulted in you needing an MRI. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the results.

We know that for many people this period of waiting for news can be particularly difficult. We have some advice about waiting for news in this thread that may help. Sometimes it can help to talk with someone about how you're feeling. If you think it might help to talk with one of our nurses, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

I hope that your GP can offer some reassurance when you see them in a few weeks.

    Best wishes,
