Hpv 16, cin & gcin

Im 57 and no kids. I've been diagnosed with HPV16, I have CIN & Cgin, I've had my 2nd lletz last week under GA. They were supposed to do a hysteroscopy but couldn't due to a high risk of perforation. I'm waiting on biopsy results... they'll then put a care plan in place. Anyone else had similar?

  • Hello Faughil

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been told that you had HPV+ CIN and CGIN. It sounds like it's been an intense time for you, with already having had 2 LLETZ treatments and the team being unable to complete a hysteroscopy. It's understandable that you may have questions and concerns about what this means for you.

We have some information about abnormal cervical cells on our website. I can't see that we've had any other members post recently with a similar diagnosis, but you can use the forum search function at he top of the page to read through other posts where CIN and CGIN have been mentioned.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses, you're welcome to give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for the biopsy results, and the team will be able to give you some reassurance when you meet to discuss your care plan.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Eally intense! I've been advised 3-4 weeks for the results... I'm expecting to land somewhere between something and nothing!

In the meantime I'm focusing on getting on with things and staying calm.

Thanks for the support... its very much appreciated...
