Waiting times for CT scan results - how long should it be?

Good morning,I was referred on 6th March for suspected ovarian cancer,I had a ultrasound which found a 6cm mass on my ovary.

I was then seen by the consultant,who sent me for a ct scan which I had on Saturday.

Does anyone know how long I should be waiting for the results,I understand it might vary and there are lots of people waiting,as you will all understand it’s very worrying waiting for results,

    I'm sorry to hear that you're currently waiting for CT scan results for a possible diagnosis of ovarian cancer. It's understandable that this is an anxious time. 

    How long you would expect to be waiting for results really can vary, but if you've not heard within 2 weeks then do give the Consultant's secretary a call to ask for an update.

    Hopefully you will have some news before then, but if it would help to chat things through with one of our nurses in the meantime, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

    Thank you for replying,I have called the consultants secretary and my case is being discussed at the next MDT meeting on Wednesday,so hopefully I will hear soon after that. It is indeed an anxious time waiting for results,I just feel once I know everything I can prepare myself,it’s the not knowing that is frustrating

    Hello Angie

    I'm glad to hear that you've already spoken with the secretary and have a bit of a clearer picture about how things are progressing. 

    I'd certainly agree that once you have some answers and know what the next steps are, things will become a little less frustrating.

    Thank you,I will let you know soon as I’ve heard anything,I’m nervous but ifs nicer to have an idea of a timeline
