There are a couple of options if you can afford them. One is to pay privately for a consultation with a dermatologist (probably looking at over £150 for a consultation). The other is to go to a well known high street chemist that does mole scanning for £40 (you can find them online). They check and take photos of the mole using a dermascope (which is what your GP clinic will use). They send the photos to a dermatologist & then contact you to say if the mole is low risk (so probably benign) or high risk & that it needs a GP to make a dermatology referral. If you go down this route & are given a high risk result, you can take it to your surgery & ask for a quicker appointment as a 2 month wait is not acceptable.
