A probably malignant ulcerative tumour

Hi all,

I've been referral from GP as fit test was 31 I have piles but that as been looked at and they not fussed about them. I had the colonoscopy and given copy of the report and it say for rectal a probably malignant ulcerative tumour 25mm with 12 ployps removed no more could be removed due to size and depth.

Other ployps were removed but are not a worry. As I say I've had report and under the section with heading it says about a probably malignant ulcerative tumour in retrum. But on the diagnosis section it says malignant rectal tumor so I'm confused is it cancer or not.

I've had ct scan (Thursday) and mri scan yesterday Friday I was only gone from hospital 2 hours before the macmillan colorectal nursing team called and said they need to book me a follow up appointment with doctor as all results are back. I thought it would be at least a week before scans was back, I have the appointment at the bowel clinic.

So at the moment I'm confused due to the report do I have cancer or do i just have to wait? I'm already for it to be cancer due to the symptoms also family history as my mum had it and her dad too.

If anyone can offer any information or advice that would be great.

  • Pointless in me saying try not overthink the situation ... but added stress will aggravate your physical and mental health.. being fast tracked is alarming but also reassuring that you are being seen asap.. hope you have support and care for you at this difficult time..
