Breast Dent

Hi, about a year ago I started experiencing pain in my breast and had a little discharge (like breastmilk). I got it checked and had a mammogram that was clear. Later I found a dent, got another clear mammogram, a clear ultrasound, a clear mri and a clear 6 month follow up. I’m only 5 ft with 38ff/g breasts so they’re very dense.

Recently, I’ve noticed the dent is bigger. My breasts are very heavy and causing me a lot of pain from the weight. They’re naturally lumpy during different times of the month but sore now when they weren’t before. I seem to have a soft fatty lump (not hard) near my arm pit and a new mole on my back? Could they be linked? I’ve made a GP app? Should I push this if the GP isn’t too worried?
thanks

  • Hello M0l,

You did well to go and get it checked out after you experienced pain and discharge in your breast and I am glad you got a clear mammogram and that the subsequent mammogram after you found the dent was also clear. The clear MRI was also very reassuring news.

As the dent is bigger and your breasts feel very heavy and are causing you a lot of pain and you discovered this new fatty lump near your armpit, it would not do any harm to get a GP appointment and to see what the doctor says about it. I would trust your doctor's judgement on this but if you were to feel that you needed another opinion just to get complete reassurance and peace of mind on this, our website has information on getting a second opinion which may be of interest to you.

All in all, it sounds like you have had thorough investigations and reassuring results, but if you have noticed changes or new symptoms since, it's always a good idea to get these checked.
