No one will give me answers

Hey guys, sorry for the long post but here goes

so in 2022 I started to get pain in my leg the gp told me I need to see a physiotherapist then the physiotherapist at the GP surgery  said I have and I quote ‘gritty cartilage, fluid behind the knee cap and patella tendonitis’ without an examination he just googled my symptoms and come to that conclusion, do my own referral to the hospital based physiotherapist, see a sports massage specialist and move on with my life. I did this I also went to see a chiropractor. 

anyways after more doctors visits I finally had a quicker referral to the hospital based physiotherapist in September 2024 I finally got to see him he’s been useless but he did refer me for an mri scan after me chasing him for 8 weeks, I had to chase him for my results which showed and again I quote ‘you have a lump on your soft tissue I will do a referral today for an urgent ultrasound’ I had my ultrasound 6 weeks later to which the guy that performed the ultrasound said ‘you have a tumour there’s no denying that it’s on your nerve that’s where the pain is coming from I think it’s best if we do a biopsy right now to save on waiting times’ that was 4 weeks ago. My therapist rung me 4 days later stressing about a referral to a new hospital ‘if you don’t hear within 2 weeks call me and I will chase it up as it’s important’ I did so and he was just rude.

so I called back to physio last week the receptionist told me my results are back and I need to have a discussion with the therapist to discuss my results more clearly so she sent him an email to call me, he called me within half hour lied to me and said he don’t have my results. He said he has done me a referral to the new hospital that has a supply of specialist teams and again he won’t tell me which department I have been referred to. Where can I turn to? I need some answers and right now my daughters health isn’t the greatest, it’s looking like my partner has thyroid cancer which we will have complete confirmation next week I need some answers to focus on moving forward

    I'm so sorry to hear about all the problems you and your family have been having. It sounds like it's a difficult time right now and it's understandable that you're frustrated by the lack of clear communication. 

    I'd suggest getting in touch with the PALS department of the hospital where you have been seen by the physiotherapist. It's part of their role to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS and hopefully, you should be able to get some clarification regarding this new referral you're waiting for. 

    When your partner sees their specialist regarding a potential thyroid cancer diagnosis hopefully they will be able to give you both some reassurance about their health and the recommended next steps in treatment. If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

    Thanks for your reply, after stressing for months and being fobbed off by my GP for 2 years I contacted pals before I seen your reply they put me in touch with the relevant department that I was seeking and I had my response today which shows I do in fact have a synovial sarcoma and all is underway from today

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been told you have a synovial sarcoma. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long to see the specialist, and they will be able to give you some reassurance about the best way forward.
