Neuroendocrine Tumour

I've recently had biopsies for problems with my stomach and the report (amongst other things) is saying that they need to get a second opinion and they can't rule out a grade 1 neuroendocrine tumour. Even though i have been to my Doctor he didnt seem to shed any light on it and is now going to chase the hospital were i had my endoscopy. Has anyone else on here had this sort of report or am I overthinking it? Thankyou in advance.

  • Hello Nettle,

What an anxious time it must be for you as you are waiting for a second opinion. I hope that the doctor can find out more and that you get some clarity on all this soon. It's difficult not to overthink it when dealing with all this uncertainty and it is normal to be worried about it being a neuroendocrine tumour but at least it's reassuring that they think it would be grade 1 and therefore slow-growing.

Unfortunately all you can do for now is wait for definite answers and waiting is no easy thing as so many members of our community will know only too well so I will share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while you are waiting for important news. I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been through something similar before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Don't hesitate to keep us updated when you find out more. Keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern.

    Best wishes,
