I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had your appendix and part of your bowel removed. I hope that you're recovering well from the surgery. 

From what you've said in your post it sounds like the follow-up appointment has been automatically sent after your procedure. It would be unusual for biopsy results to have been returned so quickly after they were taken. 

It's natural that you're feeling anxious about waiting for your results. We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult. try to remain positive. Worrying won't change the results but it will leave you feeling worse so in the meantime try to concentrate on feeling well again after your surgery. 

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. 

I hope the team are able to offer some reassurance when you see them. Do let us know how you get on.

I phoned the hospital yesterday as I couldn't cope and they did say the appointment was made for when roughly they expected my results back, and to allow time for the MDT meeting.

It's just such a long time to wait and I don't do well with worry at the best of times.

I really feel for everyone waiting so long, it's a nightmare.

I've been misdiagnosed for a while, so I think that's adding to my worry.
