Hi all,
I'm 38 and I've been with issues in my troath after a flare up from my gastritis related with heavy stress and it has been a battle to manage it, but it seems this time it started affecting my troath thing that it never did before, but I know my stomach valve doesn't close properly since years. I've been almost the last two months trying to manage this and it has been really difficult, so much that already lost almost 4kg since January due to dietary changes (simply had to close my mouth) and stopped eating virtually everything and I'm eating small quantities. The GPs say the troath being affected is due to GERD but still they passed me to an E.N.T that I'm going to see in two weeks.
While I'm waiting for the appointment I decided to go and paid from my own pocket and did an ultrasound to the neck and thyroid that detected this:
"There is a hypoechoic, heterogeneous right thyroid lobe lesion with microcalcifications, measuring 8x5x6 mm. Associated vascularity is demonstrated.
Urgent specialist referral is suggested for further imaging investigations/FNA."
Now, from my research there's a high chance this is a bad thing due to the micro calcifications but there's also a chance this is benign. I know even if it's bad the thyroid cancer is one of the cancers that is more "easily" treated and the nodule is quite small, but still I'm worried with this.
The ultrasound also said the lymph nodes are all clear, being promising. I don't have any symptoms except the gastric reflux that I'm having difficulties to handle.
I know a person shouldn't worry, but it's only part of human nature isn't it? Worrying puts the people near us even more worried and their health also suffers. So I'm venting with everyone.
Thank you all
