How to settle nerves before appointment

I had a laparoscopy and a cyst removal.  My ca125 was 135 and 3 weeks later ca125 was 167.

I got a call from a consultant to have a meeting on Wednesday to discuss results an plan for treatment moving forward. Also said I need to take someone along.

I have had a gut feeling it is cancer all along but now I am so scared to hear the words from the consultant.

How did everyone manage emotions before hearing it being said ?

  • I’m so sorry to read this, and even more sorry that you don’t have a plan of action for moving forward. That must be an even harder bit than waiting to hear if it’s malignant.
it sounds like you have been expecting this news and really advocating for your own health which is great and I’m keeping everything crossed that it’s early stages.
when do you get your CT scan? I hope your consultant was kind and you feel supported.
you said your mum was asking questions, so you mind me asking your age and what symptoms you had that made you think something wasn’t right? Don’t worry if you don’t want to share. I was just curious as speak to so many people on here of different ages who have different outcomes.
hope you are doing something nice for yourself for the rest of this awful day so it’s not all bad. Sending big hugs and thinking of you x

  • It's frustrating but almost I know my gut wasn't  wrong . My CT will be within the next 3 weeks .

I have been fighting for ages.  I have never had regular  periods but when I did they were heavy and sore.

I have been having  problem walking  without pain in my groin and hips.  Was referred to the hip specialist who blamed my diabetes without  examining me.

Since August I have been bleeding constantly.  And a few months ago I had a massive bleed after sex and since the pain was unbearable.  Ended up in A&E had a laparoscopy to remove a 5cm cyst on my cervix . It was very infected.  And they took a few biopsies.

The op has helped my movement and slowed bleeding .but still very sore

    Xx

  • Oh you just sound like you have really been through it. Hopefully having a diagnosis now is going to be the key to getting you well on the mend x
