Pelvic Structure

Hi all, feel a little guilty about writing this as I probably (being optimistic) don't have cancer, but there is a possibility and I'm very stressed. I've had a dull gnawing ache same place in lower right pelvic area intermittent for over 18 months, with occassional back pain literally behind it. Originally saw gp 18 months ago, ca 125 normal but she didn't think I hit criteria for nhs referral. I got busy with work so carried on with the intermittent pain. Fast forward, the pain has been constant and daily since Christmas. I saw new GP beginning of January, also had intermittent bowel changes, mostly loose with intermittent bowel bleeding. Ended up with a positive FIT so she sent fast track to colectoral. Had a ct contrast of colon, abdomen and pelvis. Colon looks fine but a 2.5cm structure was seen in right adnexa (ovary area). Then had transabdominal and transvaginal done almost 3 weeks ago. Inconclusive results. It showed a heteregenous structure 4.3cm x 3.5cm with solid and cystic areas with some vascularity and strong blood flow. Now been referred to gynae and have appointment next week. I'm 48 and think I'm post menopause. I had hysterectomy 18 years ago but they left the ovaries in. After several years of experiencing menopause symptoms, an fsh test 3 years ago showed I had reached menopause and I've been on hrt ever since. I've been worried and googled like we all do, and even being optimistic, everything I read all says there is a possibility of cancer. Freaking out. My kids Dad died of an aggressive mouth cancer 2 years ago, partly due to a bit of negligence from the NHS after the initial tumour removal. So I do not want to put my adult kids through another cancer time. I am constantly exhausted which I just put down to age and stress etc, and get full with eating quite quickly. Last couple of weeks the pain escalates with prolonged walking. Just want to know if anyone has had anything similar and what was the outcome. Thanks for reading and sorry for the long waffle x

  • Having low CA125 is a good sign. Let that be a lot of reassurance to you. It sounds very similar to my story and I have finally been diagnosed with a dermoid cyst. Mine is 7x8x4. It causes me lots of lower back and pelvic pressure. I feel like someone has sat a bowling ball in my pelvis.
I think having an ovarian cyst can cause all sorts of changes in your body including your bowels.
Next week is very soon, try stay off Google until then. Nothing good comes of it, just stress. Keep in touch x

  • Thankyou! Ca 125 was done 18 months ago and awaiting another l. I did read about dermoid cysts. I'm pretty much hoping that when I go on Tuesday, they will probably suggest taking both ovaries out because I don't need them and already at menopause. Then I can just deal with whatever the biopsy shows. I think that will be better as it will remove the pain and worry x
