Waiting after biopsy

My husband had his lung medistinal lymph node biopsy yesterday. To say we're stressed & completely terrified of results is an understatement.

Every ache pain twinge hes getting his thinking its cancer.

He suffered a stroke 7 yrs ago & been prone to swelling in ankles legs & hands. But this seems to have worsened over the last 2 mths. He as arthritis in is joints that pain as worsesed. Eveeything single thing he thinks its cancer.

Since he had the biopsy hes leg are like lead weights, I think from seddaton, but he says he heard the docs talking & I think he was at an angle on bed having the EBUS which as made his back/body ache, he seems stiff with pain.

Thought of another 2 wk wait is unbearable & what about if things are going on in his body? Though he doesnt cough, never bought up blood No weighltoss, tho I wud imagine we've both lost weight now!

Its a daily living nightmare....as anybody else gone thru this & come out not so bad? 5cms lower lung with small volume medistinal lymph node.

I dont know how much more we can bare....

  • I'm sorry to hear how stressed and anxious you are both feeling at the moment Minnie.

This must be an incredibly difficult time, but our members are here for you and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

I really do hope some of the tips and advice we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help you through this challenging time but if either of you would like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and they will do all they can to support you whilst you wait.

Be kind to yourselves Minnie, and for the moment, just try to take things one day at a time.

We're thinking of you both and will have our fingers crossed the results bring good news when they come through.

    Best wishes to you both,
