Why the difference

I have had two colonoscopies. The first was totally pain free, no sedation and no Entonox so went for the second one feeling very confident it would be the same but no the whole thing was excruciating from the camera placing onwards. Why and how could they be so different. I had different Endoscopists.  Can method really make this difference?

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with the second of these.

    It's difficult to advise why there may have been such a difference. We do see people posting on the forum with very different experiences of the procedure - some who say it was painful, and some who say there were no issues, so the variation is common.
