Breast cancer worry, can anyone offer advice?

Hello all,

I started out with pain under my arm but no visible lumps. I also have neck and arm pain. I went to my gp and they found a small lump in my right breast. I have my breast clinic appointment next Tuesday and I’m panicking.

I’ve been to the clinic a few times and it’s always turned out to be cysts or fibroadenomas but I never had the neck, armpit and shoulder pain. I am just panicking thinking the worst. I also have headaches and scared it’s going to be something bad.

has anyone else had this issue before and it’s turned out benign? I’m 32 and thinking worse case scenario. I’m trying to stay positive but the other symptoms are scaring me.

thank you all x

  • I'm sorry about the lump that was found and for the worry your neck, armpit and shoulder pain are causing whilst you wait for your breast clinic appointment.

I know this must be very difficult but if you can, try not to think the worst or jump to any conclusions until you know more. So much easier said than done, I know, but a lot of our members who have been in a similar position will know what you're going through, so you are not alone, and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

We have some tips and advice on how to cope with the wait, but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you and put your mind at ease whilst you wait.

We're here for you Cjkeke15 and wishing you all the best for next Tuesday.

    Kind regards,
