Checking in..

Hi, thought I would post n update.. not much of one but a step forward following my colonoscopy 17th December.  Waiting times for results are at 20 weeks here in South Lanarkshire,  Scotland.  The medical secretary to the Colorectal consultant is 1st class...helpful, caring and understanding.  Due to the waiting time she advised me to call every couple of weeks,  which is what I have been doing.  Up until 2 weeks ago..no news..biopsies were in pathology.. thought I'd try today and told...results are through and I will ensure they go to the consultant so that a letter can be sent to you...

So...a further game of waiting...

  • Hi Eastendgirl,

It's good to hear that there has been some progress in getting your results - I'm sure the waiting must have been difficult and I know this is something many here will relate to. I'm glad that the secretary has been so helpful and encouraging in chasing for the results.

I hope that it's not much longer now to get the information.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Thanku Ben,  yes the waiting is endless and I'm hoping to hear from the colorectal consultant in the next week or two.

This has been ongoing since late 2023 with delays and lack of communication. My concern is that after a year my asthma symptoms were flagged as USOC in relation to possible bowel cancer.  The referral for a colonoscopy wasn't causing more delays and obviously the pathology result being available.

The medical secretary to the Colorectal consultant is caring and understanding,  very supportive and helpful which has been appreciated.

    Thanku for your comments..
