suspected crc

Hi all, 

 I have joined this forum to get some support my mum is on 2ww suspected bowel cancer. We are waiting for results of ct scan with contrast as she cant have a colonoscopy due to very poor physical health. my mum had her scan five days ago and no results  I am hoping this is because nothing sinister was seen. What are peoples experiences of waiting were you told quickly

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you are getting on OK - I know it's always difficult dealing with this uncertainty.

    Unfortunately it can take a while to receive results, sometimes up to a few weeks - this can vary a lot depending on each hospital or area. It's not possible to read anything into the time taken to get the results. Hopefully your mum should have been given an idea of how long to potentially wait, and if it went beyond this then you could always call the hospital to chase.

    Hi thanks for the reply results are back after 3 days but colerectal team saying we need to wait till reviewed by consultant so another few days the wait is agonising
